Cheese!
Cheese is my absolute favorite thing to work with in the kitchen. It can be used on its own or added to almost anything to improve the taste. 9 times out of 10 if adding cheese to something doesn't improve the flavor then you need to rethink what it is you are making. Currently in my kitchen I am working with a super spicy 4 pepper blend cheese that I picked up from my local deli. It is much hotter then a pepper-jack.
The heat of the peppers blend nicely with the cheese.
I have included some history, info and recipes I thought were informative.

PETA Creates dog/turkey hybrid. Urges public not to eat
PETA is on the ball this holiday season, by targeting kids to go vegan.
Why eat a turkey? Because it is delicious.
Have you tried tofurkey? Its nasty. Turkey is not a domesticated animal. It will never be mans best friend.
All the money they are spending on ads like this is being wasted.
That money could go and do much more good.
Spicy Asian Beef
Thaw slender strips of beef steak.
Finely slice green and red peppers. Keep seeds with them for spicy flavor. Add to an oiled pan, add 1.2 cup water and set aside to be put in oven at same time with the beef.
Marinate the beef slices with a garlic, red pepper, sesame ginger teriyaki barbecue sauce.
Place in preheated oven set on 400 degrees. Place the peppers in the oven at the same time.
Cook them both for 20-30 minutes
Pile them atop a bed of rice or noodles.

Immigrant worker feeds deathcaps to grandma.
Immigrant worker feeds deathcaps to grandma.
Barbara Lopes, 86, and Teresa Olesniewicz, 73, died needlessly in a nursing home where they lived. Their caretaker poisoned them in a mushroom mix up. The immigrant worker made the mistake of picking what she thought was an edible mushroom and then made a soup which she also ate. "Deathcaps" look similar to an edible wild mushroom popular in Asian countries. The worker and a few others went to the hospital after eating her soup. It is reported that she was unaware of the danger.

Get ready for some knowledge. Many mushroom varieties found in the wild are in fact deadly! Many people who get mushrooms for food do their homework and are extremely careful when picking them. As these videos show, they are knowledgeable about their product. Please don't poison yourself or others because you get an idea that you want to make some mushroom soup.
Here is a guide on mushrooms for your kitchen.

Winter beer heart of Darkness + pie recipe
Found a seasonal beer called heart of Darkness by Magic Hat. I gotta say it has a very unique taste.
It has a bitter/creamy chocolate taste. Not sludgy at all.
Pairs well with a chocolate cupcake.
I have been a huge fan of Magic Hat, especially their #9.
Defiantly worth a try for a seasonal/non pumpkin flavored beer.

You leave your drink around me... + 50 elephants
50 out of a herd of 120 elephants tore up a small town to get a local beverage called Mahua. They drank over 100 gallons in just a few minutes while destroying the shop that made the drink.
Apparently these elephants are no strangers when it comes to getting crunk from this drink. The police called on the locals to help contain the elephants and escort them out of the town.

A few fools to spoil it for the rest of us
I would like to state that I am sorry for the loss of life where ever it takes place.
Now with that being said
I would mention that people should always exercise good judgement and try to live responsibly. If you are a parent this should go double for yourself, by being involved in your child's life and passing these things to them.
Last year a young girl died from "cardiac arrhythmia due to caffeine toxicity" after drinking two 24 oz cans of Monster Energy drink. The cans held a total of 475 mg caffeine.
This chart shows that she drank 6 servings back to back.
I would ask, where were her parents at? Did they warn her not to drink caffeine drinks?
Did she intentionally not pay attention to the label?
The young girl had a preexisting heart condition, as well as Ehlers–Danlos syndrome. Why on earth would any parent let their child even think about caffeine drinks if this was the case? Last month her parents sued Monster. The Food and Drug Administration received 5 apparent deaths that possibly linked Monster.
I repeat it is sad. I think if better judgement were used by adults and children there would be much less of these accidents. Lets pay attention to labels and make wise choices. I will continue to drink monster and other caffeine drinks. I am an adult and will use my best judgement when consuming them. Lets not go on a witch hunt when its lack of personal responsibility to blame. Please lets not ban products because a few people want to abuse them. Live responsibly, educate yourselves and use some common sense.

Spinach Recall
Try to avoid the stuff in general for a few weeks just to be safe.
16 cases of e.coli reported linked to Fresh Spinach. Wegmans recalled the Fresh Express 5oz and 11oz bags.

The Fresh Express company website is here. As of 7:27 am Thursday Nov. 8th 2012 I saw no mention of the recall in their news links. Nor in any obvious place.
They did a voluntary recall on their 9oz bags due to a salmonella positive result in
some of their testing on the 7th.

Vs. Hibachi China Buffet
This was a great food experience. We decided we wanted an Asian buffet. We chose Hibachi China Buffet. It is located in a very nice location. We expected the typical Asian buffet experience, food that has been sitting out for hours, few if any guests, dim lighting, a tired played out asian music cd being repeated for the 100th time, and waitresses that looked irritated that we had come to interrupt their texting.
We were really surprised, the place didn't compare to any buffet we had ate at before. Upon arriving we were greeted by 2 large stone statues. The inside was packed, we did not wait to be seated very long. Maybe the wait was 5 minutes.
To entertain us there was an expensive koi pond which featured some nice looking fish and even 2 small turtles. Brilliant almost flamboyant lighting was everywhere you looked.

The food was fresh and fantastic. I started off with a sushi plate.
The sushi is made there fresh in front of you. The sushi chef worked tirelessly preparing the rolls.
All of it was delicious.
My next plate was heavier, it was steamed and fried dumplings with chicken teriyaki
and an egg roll. The dumplings actually had a taste to them and the meat filling inside of them. I never had either before that had a taste. The chicken teriyaki and egg roll were about average.
I ordered a beef soup and they asked which type of noodle I wanted. I gave them a clear answer and what I got was a mix of 2 different types. That was not the bad part of the bowl of soup. The beef soup tasted too much of vegetables, and the meat was tasteless. I barely had 2 spoons. Disappointing.
Next up was the hibachi, you fill your plate at the station with the meats and vegetables that you want and tell them what sauces you want. I choose onions, mushrooms, noodles, and steak.
Was well prepared and tasty.
Lastly, for desert I had some sweet strawberry cake, a type of whipped pineapple treat and some cherry sauce covered bananas. For a Chinese buffet desert menu this is very common.
The cakes were very good but the exact same as any other Chinese buffet I have been to.

The architecture really gave a sense of being in China.
Overall experience was a good one. Will return to eat here again. It had a great atmosphere.
The waitresses were nice and always ready to fill your cup.
